Massage Clinic Openings

Grading Policy and Procedures

Grades are based on the following:

• A 90 - 100%
• B 80 - 89%
• C 70 - 79%
• Unsatisfactory 69 or below

Below 70% is unsatisfactory and is considered a failing grade. If a student is showing signs of difficulty the instructor will counsel the student to determine what needs to be done to rectify the situation, and may arrange a test retake.

Academic probation occurs when a student scores below 70% on two tests. A student on academic probation is required to arrange tutoring. The administration will assist finding appropriate tutoring. The costs of tutoring and test re-takes will be the responsibility of the student. The student may be required to re-take the failed exam within one week and will remain on probation until a passing grade is maintained consistently.

Dismissal: If the student fails a total of 4 tests, original or re-take, the student is dismissed from the program. The student may re-enter the program during the next term.

Incomplete: Any student given an "incomplete" will be required to hand in any missing work. No final exam will be given to a student with incomplete work. All "incompletes" must be completed in full within three (3) months of the classes’ final meeting or the entire class must be repeated at full cost to the student. All re-takes of exams and quizzes must be taken on student’s own time and arranged with a staff member.

There is no transfer credit from other institutions. Fox Valley School of Massage does not grant advanced standing for previous training or course work.

All students will be given a final comprehensive exam as determined by the instructors.

The school maintains files of the student’s tests and papers for a period of five years.

Progress Reports

Students will receive progress reports throughout the term. Reports will include results of exams, assignments, and attendance. If the student wishes a review at other times, he/she may make an appointment during school office hours with the administrator.

Students will receive a progress report one week prior to the final exam. Students will be informed of their average scores, attendance and given feedback on clinical performance.

A final progress report and transcript will be mailed to the student after graduation.
