Graduation / Student Records

Graduation / Certification Requirements

• Successful completion of all course work, exams and finals, and clinic hours
• Maintaining a 70% or better on course work, exams and finals for each class
• Successful completion of CPR and First Aid Training by the end of the course
• All tuition and fees paid in full
• All materials borrowed from the school must be returned
• All requirements must be completed in full within 3 months of the classes’ final meeting
• Pass the Curriculum Final Examination with a 80% or better.

Upon successful completion of the graduation requirements, graduates are eligible to take the National Certification Exam and to become Certified with the state of Wisconsin.

Certification

Effective March 1, 2000 the State of Wisconsin began requiring Massage Therapists to sit for the National Certification Exam before they can become Certified with the State. Certification with the State of Wisconsin requires a minimum of 600 hours of training in massage therapy as well as the national exam. The curriculum at Fox Valley School of Massage meets these requirements.

There are several states that now have certification/licensing/registration. They are: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Student Files/Records

It is the policy of the school to keep student records for a period of 5 years. After the 5-year period, only transcripts are kept. Social security numbers will be used solely for student identification.

Students have access to their files by submitting a request in writing to the school administration.

Copies of student transcripts are available to students for a $15.00 fee.

Copies of student certificates from the school are available to students for a $30.00 fee.

Access to student records is limited to instructors, administrators, and, as required, by regulating and accrediting bodies.
